7-year-old killed by father’s bulldozer in Michigan

A 7-year-old Michigan boy was killed Thursday after being run over by a bulldozer operated by his father, Michigan State Police said.

The boy had fallen from a trailer being pulled by the bulldozer around 5:30 p.m. in Maple Grove Township in the western part of the state. told The Detroit News.

The child was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

Death is believed to be an accident and no drug or alcohol use is suspected.

State police officials told the paper that the bulldozer had a history of malfunctions. In particular, the machine was known to suddenly stop and shift into reverse, which, according to authorities, has happened.
