Abbey Clancy has revealed how she “hated” Peter Crouch during a difficult period in their marriage, before becoming pregnant with their fourth child.
The 35-year-old model, who has been married to the former footballer since 2011, said she was surprised she got pregnant when “we hated each other at the time”.
Talking about Rob Beckett and Josh Widdicombe’s Lockdown Parenting Hell podcast, the mother of four admitted that their youngest son turned out to be a “gift” for reuniting the family.
Chatting with the moderators, Abbey found that their marriage appeared to be in trouble before learning that they were going to be parents for the fourth time.
She had called her husband with the news and it had taken Peter several hours to think about the situation before he got home and assured Abbey it was okay.
Abbey said, “We hated each other at that point too, so I don’t even know how I got pregnant, to be completely honest.
“Pregnancy with our three year old Johnny was hell, I hated him and he hated me. So I don’t know how it happened.”
Abbey and Peter are the proud parents of Sophia (10), Liberty (5), Jonny (3) and Jack (1).
While the couple have had some rocky spots in their relationship over the years, the duo won’t celebrate their 10th anniversary until next month.
Elsewhere on the podcast, Abbey also revealed that she berated Peter for being a parent after her toddler disappeared while on a farm trip. The couple discovered their son had escaped from the playpen and wandered down the street – and Abbey no doubt had stern words for her husband.
He also revealed that she “hit” Peter after the terrible ordeal.
These days, it seems that Abbey and Peter with their four young children are deeply loved and love the life of their parents.
Earlier this year, it was also claimed Abbey and Peter were in talks to land their own television series.
Potentially inspired by the likes of Victoria and David Beckham, who also had their own TV show when they moved to the US, Abbey and Peter reportedly “seriously considered” the project and hoped it would “strengthen their brand.” .
