Air Force inspector general investigating security breach at Joint Base Andrews

The Inspector General of the Air Force is currently investigating an “unauthorized civilian” violation of Joint Base Andrews, an Air Force spokeswoman said in a statement on Friday.

A “comprehensive review of installation security and trends” has also been initiated, spokeswoman Ann Stefanek wrote in the statement. Stefanek said the results of the investigation would be made public as soon as the investigation was completed.

“We are still collecting information and facts, but we can assure you that installation safety is of vital importance to the division of the Air Force,” wrote Stefanek.
