Andrew McCabe, FBI official fired under Trump, to have full pension restored

Former FBI deputy director Andrew McCabe has regained his full pension as part of a settlement of his lawsuit over his dismissal during the Trump administration more than three years ago, his attorneys said Thursday.

McCabe, a frequent target of then-President Donald Trump’s ire, was fired by then Attorney General Jeff Sessions in March 2018 after the Justice Department’s Inspector General found he misled internal investigators about his involvement in a media leak. The dismissal came hours before his retirement and denied him his pension.

McCabe has denied willfully deceiving anyone, has never been charged, and has described his release as politically motivated.
