‘Around’ 100 Americans left in Afghanistan, Klain says

White House Chief of Staff Ron Klain said Sunday that there are around 100 American citizens left in Afghanistan, days after the government’s August 31 deadline to get them all out.

“We are in regular contact with everyone we have identified,” Klain said on CNN’s State of the Union.

The government hopes that the Qatar will be able to resume air traffic from Kabul in the coming days. If so, we will of course check whether Americans can take part in these flights, “he said, referring to the nation of Qatar.
