“Should Boris Johnson resign?”
A member of the audience says that given Labor leader Keir Starmer’s promise to resign if he is fined by police for ‘Beergate’, Boris Johnson, who has already been fined for ‘Partygate’, should resign ?
Suella Braverman accuses Starmer of hypocrisy. She says Johnson apologized, paid the fine and made changes to his operations.
“We need perspective,” she says, who has just returned from Ukraine. She questions people’s priorities. “It’s time to move on.”
Shabana Mahmood says the Attorney General just found excuses for a Prime Minister who broke the law.
She said of the allegations surrounding Starmer and Johnson’s fine, “There’s no comparison between those two things.”
Miatta Fahnbulleh says Partygate feels so toxic because it’s about integrity and trust. “It’s important because these guys make big calls that affect our lives.”
