He said he would appoint a group of experts as transition advisors on Monday to devise a plan “built on science” to defeat the coronavirus pandemic.
He concluded with a nod to both his faith and his son Beau, who died of cancer in 2015, and quoted words from the hymn “On Eagle’s Wings,” both of which he loved.
“And now we begin together with the wings of the eagle the work that God and history have asked us to do, with full hearts and firm hands, with faith in America and one another,” said Biden.
Biden took the stage outside the Chase Center on the riverside in Wilmington, Delaware, Saturday night, four long days after the election. An audience of about a thousand lively supporters was in attendance, many in their cars, waving American flags and blue lights distributed by the campaign. Some provided with food and drink. Thousands of other supporters gathered in the surrounding streets.
