Biden to hold first news conference March 25

The White House is stepping up its media presence as it moves to boost the recently passed US $ 1.9 trillion stimulus package and to announce continued progress in expanding coronavirus vaccinations. Biden traveled to Pennsylvania on Tuesday, and other envoys spread across the country as part of a scheduled lightning bolt.

The Biden administration initially received praise for reintroducing daily press conferences, a practice that withered under former President Donald Trump, who preferred to act as his own spokesman, and often dealt with reporters on free-wheeling exchanges who reported heartburn for his administration caused.

Early in his political career, Biden had a reputation for gaffing, and he and his team had been careful to ensure intelligence discipline throughout the campaign and during the early weeks of his presidency. However, the president has gotten lost at times, and his comments that states rushing to lift Covid-related restrictions showed “Neanderthal thinking”.

The derisive remark fueled Republican indignation for days as Congress worked to push through the aid package.
