BMW gets run over by 4×4 after sneaky manoeuvre goes wrong

A motorist gave “off-road driving” a whole new meaning when his SUV was filmed climbing the hood of an oncoming car – and hanging it precariously in the air.

James Christmas was driving out of his driveway in Dagenham, East London, early in the morning of May 5, when he and the Honda CR-V ES AUTO were simultaneously pulling onto a main road and blocking a lane when they came to a stop.

But the 32-year-old watched in astonishment as a cheeky BMW driver tried to squeeze past him on the wrong side of the road before he was met head-on by the off-road vehicle that was now moving.

Bizarre footage shows the black Honda accelerating further into the silver BMW, slipping its left wheel over the bumper and hitting the hood – at hilariously slow speed.

The wheel then falls from the side of the car, leaving the 21-year-old 4×4 on two wheels 5 feet in the air while its driver looks embarrassed at the vehicle he had just assembled.

James has since found the incident hilarious, claiming it was “a great advertisement for Honda CRVs” considering how effortlessly it handled the unusual terrain of another car’s hood.

James, a surface repair worker, said, “It gave off-roading a new meaning anyway. The 4×4 just rammed in and then accelerated further so that it eventually drove over the silver car.

“It wasn’t even a high velocity impact. There was no sound to be heard. Then it got stuck and just couldn’t move. The two people had to crawl out of the passenger side.

“It was early in the morning so it was a pretty sleepy incident. They definitely hadn’t had their Weetabix [the video] at work WhatsApp and they laughed a lot about it.

“I’ve never seen anything happen on this street so it was completely unexpected. I didn’t really know what to make of it. It was definitely a fun way to start the day.

“I haven’t hung around for too long. I checked that everyone is ok and left. They exchanged details, but everyone was calm and there were no arguments.

“It’s a good selling point for Honda because [the car] managed to climb over easily. It was so strange how it went. I thought ‘what’s going on here?’

“It’s such a crazy thing to happen on your doorstep when I was about to go to work. I was shocked then, but now I find it funny. I’m sure the other parties don’t. “
