According to national media reports, Boris Johnson married Carrie Symonds at a surprising secret wedding in Westminster.
It is widely reported that the power couple of conservative politics tied the knot on Saturday (May 29).
That’s even though it was previously announced that the couple would get married next summer, July 30, 2022.
Apparently only 30 guests witnessed the wedding, all of whom were invited at the last minute.
Number 10, according to Saturday evening (May 29), refused to comment The mirror.
Aide 10 said, “I was strictly told not to comment.”
Outgoing DUP chairman and Northern Ireland’s first female minister, Arlene Foster, has apparently confirmed the news by tweeting her congratulations to the couple.
Carrie, the 33-year-old mother of the couple’s one-year-old son, Wilfred, was apparently walking down the classical music aisle at Westminster Cathedral.
The Roman Catholic venue had only been cleared of the public a few minutes earlier, the reports say.
The prime minister’s relationship has made headlines lately for all the wrong reasons, with allegations of Carrie’s extravagant renovation of her Downing Street apartment and controversy over who paid for it.
Former top advisor to Mr Johnson, Dominic Cummings, bombed him and Carrie this week outside two parliamentary selection boards.
He accused the prime minister of being “unable” to run the country and its government and responsible for thousands of unnecessary coronavirus deaths.
And he said Mr. Johnson’s partner was often distracted by “trivial” things – like newspaper articles about their dog Dilyn – at the height of the virus crisis.
Political insiders suggested that Carrie, herself a former Conservative communications worker, was instrumental in ousting Mr. Cummings last year.
More will follow.
