Prime Minister Boris Johnson will make a national televised statement live from Downing Street on Thursday afternoon.
The Prime Minister last spoke to the nation on Saturday when he announced that England would launch a second national lockdown starting Thursday, today.
His announcement from Downing Street comes on the day coronavirus lockdown laws go into effect. This means that all non-essential stores will be closed until December 2nd.
And it comes the day Chancellor Rishi Sunak announces changes to the vacation rules that will extend the payment scheme to all UK nationals beyond the December 2nd lockdown date.
Mr Johnson will post the latest update on coronavirus numbers across the country and an update on the latest changes to the Coronavirus Lockdown Act.
The 5 p.m. announcement will feature NHS board chairman Sir Simon Stevens.
