Police have arrested a 15-year-old boy suspected of shooting dead his parents and brother after they “banned him from using the Internet” because of bad school marks.

The teenager spent three days living with their bodies at the family home before allegedly confessing to his crime.

He is understood to have used a hunting rifle to shoot his mum and then his 10-year-old brother before killing his dad when he arrived home later the same day.

Police sources on the Costa Blanca say they believe the gruesome murders could have been sparked by the boy’s parents stopping him from going online with his mobile.

The curbs were as a punishment for his poor school grades and his lack of help with domestic chores.

Local reports say he had fallen behind at his unidentified school after failing five key end-of-year exams.

One said he had confessed his crime to a neighbor who inquired about his parents and younger sibling by telling her: “I killed them a few days ago.”

Spain’s National Police, which is leading the ongoing investigation in conjunction with a local investigating court, has yet to make any official comment.

The youngster’s behavior since his arrest on Friday was described in one local newspaper report as “cold and serene.”

Police sources have been quoted as saying that he confessed to shooting his dad in the chest when he returned home and discovered his wife and younger child dead “because he wouldn’t shut up.”

One described the scene officers had encountered when they reached the house as “dantesque.”

Autopsies are due to take place later on Saturday and the property remains cordoned off by police so forensic experts can continue their inquiries.

News of the gruesome murders emerged just days after the bodies of a man and woman were found in a shallow grave on the outskirts of Elche with signs of torture.
