Brazil’s Bolsonaro wants to end the use of face masks to fight Covid

BRAZIL – Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro told a radio station Monday that he had commissioned the Ministry of Health to conduct a study to end the use of face masks recommended by specialists for the prevention of the coronavirus.

Bolsonaro said he will meet with Health Minister Marcelo Queiroga on Monday, adding that an announcement could be made as early as today regarding the use of masks in Brazil.

The South American country has Registered 20,528,099 cases on Friday since the pandemic began, while the official death toll rose to 573,511 in the world’s third worst outbreak outside of the United States and India and the second deadliest after the United States, according to the department.
