We come with good news and bad news, Bridgerton lovers! The sexy Netflix Original was revived for a second season, but we’re not sure when it’ll drop. The series, based on Julia Quinn’s novels, debuted on the streaming service in December 2020, and while it’s been green to make new episodes, Bridgerton season 2 has never started filming.
As we reported earlier, Bridgerton filmed season 1 for about six months, that was before all the work going into post-production. However, new casting updates for the next season have already been announced, so it doesn’t look like the series is taking the time to come about.
For those unfamiliar, Bridgerton follows some unique London families in the 1800s. The protagonist is Daphne Bridgerton (Phoebe Dyvenor), a young girl making her debut in society, ready to discover a husband. What happens next is unexpected for her and her family, as she makes a will – they, won’t – they associate with the Duke of Hastings, aka Simon Bassett (Regé-Jean Page). Their friendship quickly blurs the lines when they realize they have feelings for each other. And trust me, the scenes they are involved in don’t have a PG rating!
Are you desperate to see what happens next for Daphne, Simon and of course Lady Whistledown? We also! As mentioned before, we don’t have a release date yet, but we can confirm that Bridgerton Season 2 will not drop in April 2021.
In addition to the fact that Bridgerton Season 2 has not yet started filming, Netflix also dropped the list of new releases in April, which has nothing to do with Bridgerton.
