A 15-year-old British school girl is said to have been raped in the resort of Fuengirola on the Costa del Sol.
A man is said to have grabbed her arm and pushed into an alley where he raped her.
The terrible incident occurred after the victim was out with some friends in January last year.
According to the prosecutor, the teenager did not have the strength to call for help and subsequently suffered from post-traumatic stress symptoms.
A 36-year-old man from Senegal is charged with rape and is due to be tried. The public prosecutor’s office is demanding a 14-year prison sentence and deportation from Spain.
Spanish newspaper Sur.es reports: “After the rape was reported, the girl told investigators about an earlier episode in which the man was involved in 2019 [a] Night she celebrated.
“The man allegedly approached her, offered cocaine and, after she refused to take it, grabbed her with the intention of dragging her away.
“However, this was prevented by the girl’s friends who were with her at the party.”
In the event of a guilty verdict, the public prosecutor’s office demands 14 years imprisonment as well as a further eight years on probation and 20 years in which he cannot speak to the victim or communicate with him.
The public prosecutor’s office also demands that if the man is on probation, the execution of the sentence should be replaced by his deportation and that, from this point in time, entry into Spain should be prohibited for ten years.
Finally, prosecutors are demanding compensation of 15,000 euros (£ 12,700) for the psychological damage the defendant caused to the victim.
