A trophy hunter boasted that she shot a 60-year-old Nile crocodile to make a wallet.
The calloused Larysa Switlyk posted pictures of herself posing with the dead animal and saying, “Excuse me while I look for a new wallet”.
She used the snapshot in the hope of attracting British women to cruel hunts.
Switlyk invited her 98,000 web followers to guess the length of the reptile, which she later found to be 15 feet.
One fan wrote: “Ok, that’s the best I’ve seen all day !! What a beauty! This is wallet shopping at its best.”
But others have called her an “animal abuser” and a “despicable woman”.
Switlyk, 33, from Sarasota, Florida, said she shot the crocodile while on a hunting trip in Zambia to save the lives of villagers.
She said, “Some of these problem crocodiles need to be killed to save other lives.
“When you live in your own bubble and don’t have to deal with such animal-human conflicts on a daily basis, it is more difficult for you to understand or understand why people hunt these animals.”
Switlyk says she started hunting in 2008, killing 116 different species from around the world, including in Africa where she hunted the big five – lion, leopard, elephant, rhinoceros and Cape buffalo.
The US television presenter, actress and former bodybuilder has hunted the small Chinese water deer in England and deer in Scotland and wants to attract more women to the hunt. She has operated women-only trips in Norfolk.
Animal rights group XPose Trophy Hunting said, “Killing an animal for fun and wallet is morally indefensible, selfish, and a hangover of colonialism.
“Has she even stopped believing that the crocodile lived at least five decades and played an important role in controlling young men? Now this area is probably much more dangerous to the local communities. “
Switlyk was asked for a comment.
