Canada to ban passengers with Covid-19 symptoms from domestic flights, trains

Canada will ban Covid-19-related symptoms from domestic flights and trains starting Monday noon, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced today.

Under the new Transport Canada rule, “people who show signs of Covid-19 are denied boarding all domestic and intercity passenger trains,” he said during his daily meeting from outside his home at Rideau Cottage, Ottawa.

The Trudeau government has already begged Canadians who feel sick to stay at home and has mandated that Canadians returning from abroad have to isolate themselves for 14 days after their return. However, the new rule shows that the status quo hasn’t done enough to keep symptomatic Canadians away from airplanes and trains.
