Hero hotel guests waved poles as a rain of gunfire killed two near a Day of the Dead party in Mexico.

The bullet rain caused hotel guests to take cover after a drug gang brawl broke out on a beach at the Hyatt Ziva Riviera Resort. in Mexico.

Former NBC executive Mike Sington, who lives at the resort, shared how guests were relaxing on the beach and playing volleyball when the incident happened.

He wrote on Twitter: “Guests tell me they played volleyball on the beach, the shooter approached shooting a gun.

Sunshine Resort guests posted videos and photos of tourists hiding in hotel lobbies and corridors or walking around nervously during the incident.

One tourist told CNN, “I was at the pool when multiple shots were fired in a row. It took a while and everyone took cover.

“We occupied the entrances to the basement and were given metal bars, even a basin on a pedestal, to defend ourselves.”

In a separate tweet, he said of his partner: “He called me and men with machine guns stormed the beach.

“He’s hiding in a room, but he has no idea what to do.

Other guests feared for their lives and had to hide in their rooms and other areas of the hotel while an “active shooter” fired at the resort in Puerto Morelos, south of Cancun.

The vacationers who stayed at the hotel said they were asked to take shelter after the rain.

Der Spiegel told Thursday how a worried tourist, whose partner tweeted as a terrible incident, unfolded.

He said, “I’m on call with the US Embassy. If anyone can help, my husband and several others are at the Hyatt Ziva in Cancun.

“Men with guns stormed the beach and started shooting. Please spread the word and get help. I have no idea what to do … “

According to reports, warlike gangsters faced each other on a beach in Bahia Petempich, Puerto Morelos, the attorney general said.

It resulted in the murder of two men after tourists reported the gunshots on social media.
