Officers have been searching a cemetery in connection with an investigation into the murder of a woman whose remains were found in two suitcases on the Welsh border with England.

The body of Phoenix Netts, 28, was found on the A4136 near a quarry in the Forest of Dean, Gloucestershire, between Monmouth and Coleford on May 12.

A large area on the outskirts of Coleford, roughly two miles outside of Wales, was cordoned off after the incident.

On Tuesday (June 23), West Midlands Police also cordoned off Handsworth Cemetery in Camp Lane, Birmingham, and began carrying out searches.

A force spokesman said: “Detectives from West Midlands Police are continuing to progress the investigation into the murder of Phoenix Netts and are carrying out searches in Camp Lane, Handsworth Wood, Birmingham as part of their inquiries.
