Charity shop accidentally sells woman's designer handbag

A charity shop has accidentally sold a woman’s £564 designer handbag after leaving it in the dressing room.

The woman, whose name was not released, left her Balenciaga handbag in the dressing room of an RSPCA charity shop, reports The mirror.

The buyer is said to have been in a hurry because she was traveling with her two children.

When she realized she had forgotten the bag and went back to get it, she found that it had been sold.

Speak with ham & high, The mother said: “They said someone asked how much the bag cost.

“I think when you’re selling something in a store, you know what you’re getting – and there has to be a price. You can’t just sell something like that, especially when it’s a designer product.”

The woman says her keys and other items were in the bag, although the store claims it was empty.

A spokesman for the RSPCA did not confirm how much the bag sold for but said the store’s staff made a “very real and good faith mistake”.

An appeal has since been launched for the customer who bought the bag to come forward so it can be returned to its rightful owner.

The RSPCA added that it had launched an investigation and contacted Met Police, who said “investigations are continuing”.
