Chris Martin has revealed when he thinks Coldplay will stop releasing music.
Martin, the band’s front man, will release their ninth album entitled Music Of The Spheres on Friday (October 15th).
But the musician has now said that he believes the band will stop releasing new songs after their 12th album, which means the end is in sight for the band.
Speaking to Absolute Radio, Martin said that Coldplay would not release new albums indefinitely.
“I think in a couple of albums we’ll finish the albums,” he said.
“This is not a joke, this is true, I think after 12 it will be the end of our catalog, but I think we will always want to play live together.
“Well, I think like the (Rolling) Stones do, it will be so cool if we can still be on tour in our late 70s.
“It will be wonderful if someone wants to come.”
Last month, Coldplay released My Universe, a collaboration with K-pop group BTS.
“It was just a real pleasure doing this song with them from start to finish,” Martin told Absolute Radio.
“It was such a strange idea, and on paper it was so wrong in some ways, but it allowed us to get our inner boy band out, and they got their inner old man band out and work in a middle-aged band.”
