Missing Australian Cleo Smith was found “alive and well” in a house in Carnarvon, Australia, and a 36-year-old has since been arrested – and neighbors are shocked

The man arrested after missing four-year-old Cleo Smith was found alive in a locked house was reportedly “known to the police”.
The 36-year-old has no connection to the Smith family, but comes from their hometown of Carnarvon in Western Australia.
Detective Superintendent Rod Wilde said, “He’s well known, but I have to be very careful.”
The neighbors were shocked to find Cleo, the subject of international news, on their street.
The 36-year-old man was found near the house where she was discovered.
Pictures of Cleo looking happy and healthy have since been released.
The shocked local residents described the detainee as a man who “stayed to himself”.

“He’s a very calm guy, a little bit of an eccentric … would definitely not have picked him, it completely derailed me,” said Rennee Turner.
“I heard whispers. I thought the police might have an idea of what was going on because I’ve never seen so many cops here for so long. “
Another neighbor said, “Not last night, the night before, I heard a little girl crying, but I wouldn’t expect it to be Cleo.”
While one added, “He’s been acting a little weird lately.” And Henry Dodd told Nine News. “He’s going to get into his car, drive so fast.
“He doesn’t have his dogs up front [normally]”He’s got his dogs in the back, but this week he had his dogs in the front and he was acting weird.”
9News reported that the man in custody had “sustained head injuries” in his holding cell and was taken to hospital by police.
DS Rod Wilde confirmed that the police do not believe anyone else has anything to do with Cleo’s disappearance.
Cleo went missing on October 16, and the disappearance quickly became a big story. She was taken away when her family was sleeping in a tent at a campsite. When they woke up, they found that she and her sleeping bag were missing.
A reward in the millions was issued for clues related to her disappearance.
Western Australia Police (WAPA) said, “I am honored to announce that WAPA rescued Cleo Smith early in the morning.
“Cleo is alive and well. A police team broke into a locked house in Carnarvon at around 1am. They found Cleo in one of the rooms. I can confirm that we have a man from Carnarvon in custody who is currently from Detectives being interrogated. “
Cleo’s mother Ellie said in a statement: “Our family is whole again.”
