Covid 'leaked from Wuhan lab in cover up worse than Watergate', new book claims

“What Really Happened in Wuhan,” a new book on the pandemic, questions the idea that the coronavirus was of natural origin, while suggesting that a leak from China’s Wuhan Institute of Virology has been “covered up”.

Covid-19 was leaked from a Chinese laboratory in a “cover-up” labeled “worse than Watergate,” a new book alleged on the pandemic.

The first case of the novel coronavirus was reported back in December 2019 in Wuhan, and the mainstream theory since then has been that the virus had a natural origin in the city, possibly in the “wet market”.

But almost two years later – and more than 4.7 million deaths around the world since the pandemic broke out – author and investigative journalist Sharri Markson said there was evidence that the virus leaked.

According to the Sydney-based author of What Really Happened in Wuhan, her research and interviews confirm the theory that the outbreak accidentally emerged from China’s Wuhan Institute of Virology, a claim China has always vehemently denied.

America’s former top diplomat in East Asia, David Stilwell, told Markson that China’s repeated claim that the virus was of natural origin was “the cover-up of the century” before adding “Watergate looks simple.”

Stilwell, a Trump-appointed employee, called for further investigation as there was “enough evidence” to carry it out.

After the sun, Markson points out some key evidence suggesting the virus may have spread due to a leak.

It includes an unusual military exercise that reportedly took place at Wuhan Airport ahead of the Military World Games in October 2019.

She referred to a Chinese media report that a training exercise was held in September 2019 that simulated reactions to a new coronavirus.

Some of those who were first infected with the coronavirus in October 2019 “now seem difficult to track,” said John Ratcliffe, Trump’s former director of national intelligence, according to innews.

The alleged disappearance of Wuhan lab worker Huang Yanling in January only fueled speculation about a cover-up.

Former MI6 chief Sir Richard Dearlove said the “weight of evidence” suggests Covid leaked from a laboratory but doesn’t believe it was ever intended.

“If you look at the evidence coolly, there is a good chance this is an escape from a laboratory, and it is up to the Chinese to conclusively prove to us that this is not the case, and not just tell us,” he said to Markson.

He added, “I’m not saying they made it public on purpose, I’m saying this is a Chinese accident, but there was a cover-up from day one.”

Robert O’Brien, former national security advisor to Donald Trump, repeated this when he called for “international oversight” of Chinese laboratory research.

“I always thought whether it was the wet market or the laboratory was pretty unimportant given the history of past health crises; they keep coming back from China and affecting the entire globe,” he said.
