Covid response chief has no regrets on Johnson & Johnson pause

White House Coronavirus Response Coordinator Jeff Zients said getting a grip on Johnson & Johnson Covid vaccine was “not at all” a mistake and rejected the idea that it would make vaccinating the country more difficult.

Speaking to CNN’s Jake Tapper on Sunday, Zients said, if anything, the Food and Drug Administration’s influence on the vaccine helped build confidence that people know the FDA and CDC are monitoring.

“The FDA is the gold standard in the world,” Zients said of the State of the Union. “Taking the break was the right thing to do.”
