One dad said he felt like a walking advertisement after getting a face tattoo to pay tribute to his daughter Meta – just before Facebook adopted the new name.

Gleb Horoshy, 31, and wife Autumn, 33, greeted their baby daughter in February, thinking her name was completely unique.

A few months later, Dad got his daughter’s name for the first time as a tribute across his cheek.

However, he looked like a social media follower after Facebook announced last month it would change its name to Meta.

Tattoo artist Gleb from Berlin said he could see the funny side of the mishap.

He said, “When Facebook changed the name to our daughter’s name, my wife freaked out.

“But it made me laugh – it was so surreal. We tried to choose a name that wasn’t popular in order for it to be unique and now it’s everywhere.

“It was my first face tattoo, but I don’t regret it because I love my daughter.

“Facebook – or Meta – should pay me for advertising for free!”

Gleb, originally from Ukraine, and Autumn, originally from California, named their daughter Meta after “metamorphosis” to symbolize the entry into the next phase of the relationship.

You never expected the name to be everywhere less than a year later – after it became the name of Mark Zuckerberg’s social media empire.

Gleb said, “I kept seeing it everywhere – it was surreal. I sure find it funny – but I have no regrets.

“I joke with people that I have it because I love Facebook and Instagram so much. I don’t regret it because I love my daughter.

“My daughter’s name will always be very special to me, no matter what.”

Social media giant Facebook revealed a new company name and brand called Meta last month.

The renaming reflects the company’s drive to move its growing business portfolio beyond social networks and to advance plans to develop what is known as the Metaverse, an online world where people can virtually meet, play and work, often with VR headsets .

CEO Mark Zuckerberg said the current brand is “so closely tied to a product that it cannot possibly represent everything we do today, let alone in the future.”
