The 40-year-old Hayemaker competed against Fournier in a fight between 58-year-old former heavyweight champion Evander Holyfield and Vitor Belfort at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Florida.

It was more than three years since Haye lost to Tony Bellew at the O2 Arena in London, where he was defeated by a technical knockout in round five.

All three judges scored in eight rounds in favor of Haye, two with 79-72 and a third with 80-71.

In his post-fight interview, Haye said, “There is one fighter I would return to professional boxing for. This is Tyson Fury.

“That big, fat Dosser, I know his kryptonite, I know what he can’t handle.

“He wants a fight? The Hayemaker is here for you.

“If Tyson Fury really wants a challenge … the fans want to see it, the fans want Tyson Fury to face someone who can knock him out.”
