A disabled Doctor Who superfan is now driving around in style – having made a custom wheelchair modeled on Dalek’s creator, Davros.
Andy Ingram, 52, built the one-of-a-kind wheelchair after meeting Terry Molloy, who portrayed super villain Davros, at MCM Comic Con.
He downloaded plans from the internet and got to work with MDF and plywood.
Andy of Benfleet, Essex said, “I met Terry Molloy, the actor who played Davros at Comic Con, and was thinking about building a Davros chariot.
“My wife was working on bumper cars when she was younger and helped me put the two together.”
The chair is made of MDF at the base and top. The sides are 1/8 “plywood.
Andy added, “I downloaded a copy of the Davros plans from www.projectdalek.com – and my wife went out of her way to be heavy lifting.
“The videos show me how to drive it on the way to our home. Everyone loves it and a lot of people want one. I love it too and I like that it makes people smile. “
