Don't book a summer holiday yet, says Cabinet minister

A cabinet minister has urged people in England not to book a summer vacation yet – ahead of an expected rule changes announcement this week.

All foreign travel from England on vacation is currently illegal.

When asked about travel and vacation abroad, International Trade Secretary Liz Truss told Sky News, “Well, we won’t have to wait long to get the full announcement from the Travel Taskforce.”

“I would suggest that people wait for this announcement. Of course, we are doing everything we can to make sure we follow our roadmap, open up the economy, and travel gradually.

“But the really important thing is that we don’t move too fast and jeopardize the progress we’ve made. I’m afraid people will have to wait a little longer to hear the news about what exactly is going on on the travel front, but I can assure you that the government is working very hard. “

She added, “I encourage people to wait until we make this announcement so we can see exactly what the details are from the data because we don’t want to re-import this virus after we have to be careful and make sure we don’t just import the virus after successfully treating it in the UK. “
