Two drunk burglars threaten to sue the water park they broke into after breaking their legs by going down a slide.
Claire Vickers, 46, and boyfriend Barry Douglas, 44, were stuck on a slide for two hours after breaking into Aldershot Lido when it was closed.
Claire broke her ankle and Barry broke both ankle and fibula. reports the mirror.
Gran Claire also had her shin sticking out after the couple got drunk, broke into the lido and decided to go down the slide, even when she noticed there was a metal barrier at the exit.
Speaking to This Morning presenters Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield, Claire described the incident as “like something out of a Saw movie”.
Barry was thinly submerged and passed out after hitting the barrier. They were rescued after the police called to investigate reports of “children” joking around in the pool.
“They looked down and saw us all mutilated,” said Claire.
Both were hospitalized and stitched after the accident, although Barry said he needed to make “serious changes” in his life as he is currently in a wheelchair.
Although no police action was taken against Claire or Barry, he suggested that there should have been “better security” at the water park.
He also said it was “too easy to get in” and warned that they may take “legal action” against the Lido.
