According to DownDetector, the social media giants Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp have failed worldwide.
More than 46,397 WhatsApp users reported problems using the global instant messaging service as of around 4 p.m. UK time.
A total of 43% of users had problems with the app, 27% could not send messages.
Mark Zuckerberg’s social giant Facebook was also struggling, with 36,298 users reporting problems.
Up to 76% of the reports related to the website, 14% to the app.

Instagram users also appear with 21,300. to have been affected by the failure bring to down detector to report on their struggles.
Half of them had problems with the app, 50% had problems connecting to the server, and 24% had problems with the website.
However, Twitter doesn’t appear to be affected as people are already flocking to the social media giant to check if they aren’t the only ones struggling with the other platforms.
One went to Twitter to post a meme of panicked social users wondering what was happening.
While joking about how they rebooted their router five times only to find out if that had nothing to do with their broadband.
