The cast of Friends has reunited for the first time since the hit sitcom ended 17 years ago.
And there was a lot of emotion online from fans who had long thought they’d never see Ross, Rachel, Joey, Phoebe, Chandler and Monica in the same room together again.
The stars Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matthew Perry, Matt LeBlanc and David Schwimmer met again for a one-off special for the US television channel HBO to look back on the popular comedy.
The cast did not appear in the character but spoke as themselves to share memories and secrets from the set.
And although the years have changed these familiar faces, there have been lots of laughs – and tears.
Scott English tweeted, “Just saw this #FriendTheReunion it is really beautiful! I was in tears of laughter and emotions the whole time. It’s so great to see them together again … “
Tweeter colleague Kate Simons said: “It doesn’t matter how many times I’ve seen friends, it always fills me with total happiness. Tonight I laughed hysterically and shed tears – I’ve relived memories and I’ve noticed how much friends I like help and will continue to help. “
Others went online to share their favorite catchphrases and quotes from the show, which ran from 1994 to 2004, for a total of 236 episodes.
Chocolate Hero simply tweeted: “Pivot! Pivot! Pivotttttt!”, A reference to a moving furniture scene in which Ross left viewers in hysteria.
Hannah Jones shared a GIF of Ross and Rachel in a passionate clinch that read, “He’s their lobster!”, Another fan favorite that means the couple should “mate for life.”
In addition to chatting to UK-born chat show host James Corden, the six reunited with some of the show’s most popular supporting characters.
This included Larry Hankin, who played the noisy neighbor, Mr. Heckles. The barbershop quartet, with whom Ross delivered a message congratulating Rachel on her new job, also appeared.
Joey’s twin hands, played by Thomas Lennon, hugged LeBlanc, while Tom Selleck, who appeared as Monica’s older friend Richard, also surprised the cast.
There was an emotional moment when Elliott Gould and Christina Pickles – who played the Gellers’ parents – showed up in the studio audience.
And Maggie Wheeler – also known as Janice – appeared and carried her catchphrase “Oh! My! God! ”While James Michael Tyler, who played Gunther, the coffee shop manager in love with Rachel, zoomed in.
