Fiery Kerry Katona blasts New Look for selling padded bikinis to nine-year-olds

Good Morning Britain was in chaos this morning as panellists debated New Look padded bikinis.

That debate came after New Look was asked to take the 9-year-old padded bikinis off sale by the Object campaign group.

New Look has come under fire on social media from mothers and others who claimed they should be taken off sale.

A mother railed on Twitter: “It’s hard enough for my daughters to shop in @newlook because all the tops are cut off, but PADDED BIKINI bras ?!

And today – the debate came up at GMB, where presenters Richard Madeley and Susanna Reid brought Kerry Katona and Housewives of Jersey star Tessa Heartmann on to the show to discuss.

Tessa argued that a “9-year-old is more on trend with 15-year-olds than anyone” before Richard Madeley tried to control the debate.

But a fiery Kerry Katona came in and said, “Yes, it’s different with a 15-year-old, not a nine-year-old”.

Previously, Tessa said, “Yes, the collection is from 9 to 15 years old,” while Richard Madeley continued to be ignored and tried to control the debate.

Richard stepped in, adding, “Let’s all say what it is: It’s a sales gimmick” before Tessa said, “I don’t really think it is like that”.

Richard continued, “It clearly sexualizes nine-year-olds,” and Kerry added, “100 percent!”

Responding to the previous debate, New Look said: “The New Look 915 range bikinis feature molded foam cups to add structure to the garment and to offer modesty to the wearer.
