Final Fantasy 14's next update will be delayed by COVID-19: "We are terribly sorry for the disappointment"

The update schedule for Final Fantasy 14 is being delayed by the COVID-19 pandemic, and while the developers don’t yet know how long it will take, they hold a sunny stance.

Final Fantasy 14 producer and director Naoki “Yoshi-P” Yoshida addressed the game’s community in an update on the official website. Yoshida’s post explains that version 5.25, the latest patch for FF14, could go up on schedule on April 7 as most of the work was done during the creation of the last patch. The situation is different now that the team is working on update 5.3, which was originally scheduled for mid-June.
