Find the latest Covid rates for every local area of England

Here is the update of the Covid-19 case rates for each area in England on Thursday.

The numbers for the seven days leading up to March 28 are based on tests conducted in laboratories (Pillar 1 of the government’s testing program) and in the wider community (Pillar 2).

The rate is expressed as the number of new cases per 100,000 people.

Data for the last four days (March 29 to April 1) have been excluded because they are incomplete and do not reflect the actual number of cases.

Of the 315 local areas in England, 111 (35%) have seen case rates increase, 198 (63%) have decreased and six are unchanged.

Corby in Northamptonshire continues to have the highest rate in England. In the seven days ending March 28, 164 new cases were registered, which is 227.1 cases per 100,000 people.

That’s an increase of 198.0 per 100,000 in the seven days ending March 21.

With 457 new cases, Rotherham has the second highest rate from 141.3 to 172.2.

North Warwickshire has the third highest rate with 109 new cases from 78.1 to 167.0.

The five areas with the greatest increase from week to week are:

  • North Warwickshire (from 78.1 to 167.0)
  • Hinckley & Bosworth (46.8-101.6)
  • South Kesteven (89.2 to 125.0)
  • Oxford (24.9 to 58.4)
  • Trafford (43.8 to 76.7)

The list was calculated by the PA News Agency based on data from Public Health England released on the government’s coronavirus dashboard on April 1.
