“This is a tragic and shocking incident that resulted in the death of a boy,” said investigating officer, Detective Superintendent Kevin Brown, head of the Thames Valley Police’s major crime unit, in a statement Sunday.
Brown said officials were at the very early stage of the investigation but believed the victim was attacked by two or three men who fled after the incident.
He appealed to witnesses and said the area was popular with dog walkers who might have seen something.
