Full list of postcodes where benefit claimants get Cold Weather Payment bonus

A wintry explosion bringing snow and ice across the UK has resulted in the government’s cold weather payment system being activated.

The £ 25 cash bonus is available to individuals with specific benefits, including Universal Loans, when the average temperature in your area is reported or forecast to be zero degrees Celsius or below for seven consecutive days.

The amount is paid out for every seven-day cold snap.

This winter, the program runs from November 1, 2020 to March 31, 2021.

Payments are made automatically to the beneficiaries so that they do not have to make a claim.

It should appear in accounts within 14 working days of any period of bitter cold weather in the area.

The Ministry of Labor and Pensions states that payments were triggered for the period from December 28, 2020 to January 3, 2021.

The DWP today confirmed that those who meet the criteria in the following zip codes will receive the money:

How to qualify for a cold weather payment

You are usually eligible for cold weather payments if you receive:

  • Pension credit
  • social care
  • Income-related unemployment benefit
  • Income-related employment and support allowance
  • Universal credit
  • Support for mortgage interest

Individuals receiving income support or income-related unemployment benefit must also meet one of the following requirements:

  • a disability or pensioner bonus
  • a child who is disabled
  • Child tax credit this includes a handicap or a severe disability element
  • you have a child under 5 living with you

If you get income-related ESAs If you are in a work-related activity group or support group, you will usually qualify for payment. If you’re in neither group, you may also receive cold weather payments if you can:
