An angry shopper beat up Hermes after she said a delivery mistake “completely ruined” her husband’s Christmas party.

A package that Nicola Rooney had ordered was “unloaded” on her doorstep in front of everyone – and then disappeared.

The 38-year-old says the company should be “named and shamed” for not properly shipping the item.

Nicola bought a gift for her partner Tank, 29, and contacted the online catalog store, Studio, after wondering why it was taking so long.

She said that Liverpool echo: “I ordered a £ 32 Remmington razor for my husband and was wondering where it is because it takes less than 12 days to get here.

“When I contacted Studio they said it had been delivered. I checked with Hermes and they had a picture of it right outside the door.

“I never received it, it was clear from the picture that I hadn’t received it.”

She added, “It’s disgusting. The picture clearly shows that no one was there to pick up the package, usually they have photos of a delivery showing the door open but it is obviously closed.

“It’s really frustrating because we live on the corner and everyone can just see it.”

Nicola from Birkenhead said: “It completely ruined Christmas for him because there are no surprises.

“It’s the principle of the thing. I’ve seen things like this with others.

“Something has to be done, Hermes has a duty of care, they should be named and shamed.

“I’m lucky it wasn’t very valuable and I received a refund. But it could have been very expensive so just throwing it away is unacceptable, they are not proud of it.”

The package was just in front of the door from Nicola Rooney

A Hermes spokesperson said: “We have contacted Ms. Rooney to apologize for the inconvenience and to offer her a full refund so that she can order another razor in time for Christmas.

“This is a very busy time of the year and our local couriers are working hard to deliver so we ask people to be at home when they expect delivery or to choose an alternative service such as:

“If you have delivery problems, you should first contact your dealer or salesperson, who will in turn contact Hermes if necessary.”
