A teenage boy was hiding in a pool of blood beneath bodies pretending to be dead after a massacre at a party, Russian police said.
Maria Kosintseva, 16, survived unharmed when the murderer chased the apartment with his gun.
The suspect, a computer game fanatic, raged at a party he hosted, shot three guests and seriously wounded another.
34-year-old Dmitri Zakharov killed himself before the police arrived on the property after the horror murders.
Polina Bardina, 18, died of a head wound and her friend Viktoria Paustovskaya, 17, suffered gunshot wounds in the abdomen.
His “close friend” barman Oleg Bregnev (36) and the real estate agent Anton Anisimov (32) were killed during the slaughter in the city of Yekaterinburg east of the Ural Mountains.
The girl, who survived after hiding under the bodies, along with another girl named Victoria, managed to send harrowing social media messages of the carnage asking for help.
But they were on the scene for four hours before the police arrived to rescue them.
The couple said they feared all along that Zakharov would realize they were alive.
Maria said, “I pretended to be dead and was afraid to come out from under the bodies.”
Victoria lost blood, crawled from the kitchen to the toilet and hid there.
The girls who were friends had been invited to join three men on a social media party group and agreed because they were “bored of hanging out with boys our age,” Maria said.
They were not sexually molested by the men who said they were “best friends,” she said.
But suddenly the security guard Zakharov got his saiga hunting rifle, shouted “Let’s play” and “started shooting”.
“He shot me, but Anton fell and covered me,” she said.
“Then he went into the kitchen, and I heard two shots that hit Viktoria and Oleg.”
Maria was lying in a pool of blood from Anton and Polina and under their corpses. She found Anton’s cell phone and used it to log into her VK social media account – a Russian online social media and social networking service.
She said, “I told my friends to call the police and the ambulance. Viktoria did the same so I knew she was alive … but I didn’t dare reach out to her to help. “
Viktoria managed to record an agonizing voice message in a muffled tone that gave the address of the apartment.
“I’m losing consciousness. I just know that I’m alive,” she said.
“I … it looks like I’m already dying.
“I’m lying here … I feel like I’m losing [consciousness]. ”
She urged her friends to warn the rescuers that the man was armed and dangerous.
“I pass out. It’s painful, terrible pain when I move … I’m afraid he’ll come in and see me alive … He’ll shoot me. Please open the door.”
Her appalling wound was shown in a picture from the Komsomolskaya Pravda newspaper.
Maria said there was “no sign of threat” before Zakharov stopped playing a computer game and started shooting.
He killed himself before the police broke into the home.
A criminal case for mass murder was opened by the Russian Investigative Committee, which confirmed that Zakharov’s body was found at the scene.
Police spokesman Colonel Valery Gorelykh said Victoria “had an operation and is in serious condition.”
“The young women were hanging out in the Raduga Park shopping mall area that fateful night,” he said.
“You met the men on the Internet.
“They picked her up in a car, after which the group went to Dmitry’s apartment.”
Zakharov has been described as a divorced father of one.
