Gogglebox made viewing unavoidable on Friday evening this week again, this time with the featured families who, just a few days before the appearance of him and his wife Meghan, targeted Prince Harry in their widely publicized Oprah interview.
As usual, the television viewers we love to watch held court over everything from cute dogs on Pooch Perfect to nude poses in Drawers Off.
But when they tuned in to Prince Harry with James Corden on the Late Late Show, the sparks really started to fly.
It all started when the famous king spoke to the former Gavin and Stacey star about his son’s favorite snacks.
“My grandmother asked what Archie wanted for Christmas and Meg said a waffle iron,” Harry said of a conversation with the queen.
But the Siddiqui family – father Sid and sons Baasit and Umar – were confused.
“So was that waffle maker a real person?” They laughed and added, “I’m here just to make your waffles.”
Gogglebox viewers on Twitter thought it was a laugh, and Eric Sutherland tweeted, “Watch #Gogglebox and loved the response from one of the Sidiqui boys when Prince Harry said he was sent to a waffle maker for Christmas. “Is the waffle maker a real person?” Brilliant.”
“Where’s the waffle iron Meg? Today is his day off, Harry! #Gogglebox “quipped Tweeter Paul O’Hagan.
Sophie added on Twitter, “A waffle iron! How fun would it be if the Queen actually sent a person to make the waffles for Harry and Meghan ?! #Gogglebox “”
- Gogglebox is on Channel 4 on Fridays at 9 p.m.
