Grimsby's Hollie Arnold is first celebrity to leave I'm A Celeb

I’m A Celebrity Camp was stunned on Friday evening (November 27th) when the first star was thrown from the castle.

Paralympic Champion Hollie Aldridge was the first roommate to leave Gwrych Castle after a public vote.

Their departure came after Shane Richie and AJ Pritchard triumphed during a Chamber Of Horrors challenge

Grimsby gold medalist Hollie was on the ITV show for 14 days.

The 26-year-old was close to tears when she said goodbye.

“I’m devastated,” she said to Ant and Dec.

“I never really knew what to expect, I thought, just go in and enjoy every second of it. It was a crazy experience for me.”

She added, “I was so nervous. I felt like I could be. I was a little superstitious when you said the names. I thought, “I will be.”

“But honestly, I love everyone there and I love what their values are and what they mean to me. And I will never forget this experience. “

There were emotional words from the campmates on their final night as “family”, with BBC’s Victoria Derbyshire saying that all of the participants “essentially fell in love”.

Previously, the former Strictly Come Dancing professional AJ and the soap star Richie had teamed up after Richie had promised the other participants: “Tonight we will eat like kings and queens.”

When the two arrived at the challenge, they were told that they would be sealed in separate chambers with their bodies lying underground.

In six rounds, they had the task of collecting stars with just their tongues, while maggots, grasshoppers, scorpions and giant mealworms rained on their heads.

In the fifth round they were covered with snakes, and in the sixth round guards came to pour rats on them.

The couple ultimately secured 11 out of 12 stars for the camp, but afterwards Richie admitted, “I’m just deaf, I’m broken.”

The celebrities ate venison for dinner before facing the series’ first elimination.
