Police in Ecuador didn’t wait for the couple to celebrate their big day after crashing the wedding and taking the groom to the station for child support he allegedly owed to another woman
A newlywed man was carted away by the police during his wedding, and his angry bride chased the police car down the street.
The man, who was not named by the police, was arrested at the worst possible time for child support and is alleged to be indebted to another woman.
Before the incident in El Guabo, in Ecuador’s southernmost coastal province of El Oro, the couple had to say “yes”.
A video of a hard-timed fall has already been widely shared online.
The footage shows the groom being led away from the wedding venue by police officers who put him in their vehicle and drive away.
The wedding guests seem angry and confused, and his girlfriend tries to follow the police car that drives down the street.
She then reportedly got into another vehicle to follow them.
The future groom owed child support for several months to another woman from a previous relationship with whom he reportedly has several children.
The footage was taken by one of her wedding guests.
You can hear the bride-to-be screaming at the police officers, they shouldn’t take their fiancé with them, but they don’t listen to her and still arrest the groom.
The groom was reportedly taken to a police station and asked to testify when questioned about his refusal to discharge his responsibilities.
It is currently unclear whether the groom was released from police custody and whether he was able to marry his bride.
The footage left many divided.
One wrote on Twitter: “Why not wait until after that poor woman.”
But after he said it was his own fault.
A second person said, “Right, you have money for a wedding, not your kids, hmmmm.”
