One hairdresser claims most of us have washed our hair incorrectly all our lives and says the result could be our locks getting worse.
Thousands of people went to Twitter to thank Felicity Nicole for her advice after sharing the right way to wash your hair on the social media platform.
She explained, “The first time all oils and buildup of product are removed from the hair, the second time the shampoo can actually do what it was intended to do.
“Apply shampoo even to the scalp. When you rinse it, it runs down the middle and ends. Then apply conditioner to the middle and ends of your hair and detangle it with your fingers or in the shower a wide tooth comb while the conditioner is on.
“Finally, remember to wash your hair only 2-3 times a week, as too much washing can lead to more buildup and damage to your hair.”
One user replied, “My hair honestly feels better now! I can’t believe the difference that made – or that I’m 26 and just finally learned how to wash my hair from a tweet.”
Another replied, “WHAT. MIND. BLOWED. That’s the stuff you should be teaching us in school, damn it!”
A third added: “This is how we should wash our faces too! The first wash removes makeup / oil / sunscreen and the second wash actually cleanses your skin!”
