The brave meningitis survivor Harmonie-Rose Allen had a surprising encounter with her music hero Ed Sheeran before she received a top award last night.

The seven-year-old Harmonie-Rose, who lost her legs and arms to meningitis as a baby, was stunned when the superstar singer before Mirror Pride of Britain Awards last night (Saturday October 30th).

He then invited the enthusiastic superfan, who was named Child of Courage at the award ceremony, to a duet with two of his hits Shivers and Perfect.

Presenting Harmony Rose, who has raised more than £ 100,000 for charity by doing things doctors say she would never do, Sheeran told her she was “incredibly special and we want to show you how great we are They are”.

Harmony Rose said, “I can’t really believe it. When he came out, I thought, ‘Is that really him?’ He was really nice and I just loved him. “

At the age of only 10 months, Harmonie-Rose fell ill with meningococcal septicemia, which brought her into critical condition with a chance of survival of only 10 percent.

Mama Freya and Papa Ross from Bath feared the worst as the infection ravaged their bodies, leaving the surgeon with no choice but to amputate parts of their arms and legs, as well as the tip of their nose.

She struggled through more than 10 surgeries and still needs more treatment because she still has hearing problems and chronic kidney disease.

Even so, she has already dedicated her life to helping others.

She took her first steps with prosthetic legs at the age of four and put them through their paces at part of the Bath Half Marathon and raised £ 6,450 for the children’s charity Time Is Precious.

During the first lockdown, she launched her 2.6 challenge – she dealt with things doctors say she would never do, including running, singing, drawing, swimming, gymnastics, and jumping – and raised over £ 76,000 for Meningitis Now.

In her latest fundraiser, she climbed a rock-climbing wall 100 times and ran 500m on her new leaves for the first time to raise £ 20,000 for an accessible playground.

Little did Harmony Rose meet Sheeran when she traveled to London with Freya, 27, Ross, 29, and sister Luna, three.

When they got to Café EL&N, she was thrilled to see it decorated with bright pink balloons, confetti, cotton candy and flowers.

Then came the big moment when Sheeran showed up with the three-tier cake.

The couple chatted and Sheeran made their balloons in the shape of their favorite poodles and roses.

He said, “I think she deserves the Pride of Britain Child of Courage award. She is unbelievable.”

Freya said, “It was like every little girl’s dream. When Ed walked in, Harmony Rose was stunned – she didn’t know what to say. She is not often speechless. I had a tear in my eye. “

Harmony Rose said, “I really love Ed Sheeran because he has an amazing singing voice. I sing Ed’s songs in the car all the time. I know all the words.

“I love music very much because my name is Harmony and I just love to sing. We sang karaoke together – Shivers and Perfect, my favorite song. He said I was a better singer than him.

“It was wonderful. It was the best day ever.”

Freya added: “We never thought we would see this day and we want to celebrate every single day that she has defied all odds.

“She is our little miracle and an inspiration for all of us. She struggled to stay here with her family and we are all so grateful for that.

“She is that big ball of energy and positivity that radiates for all of us. When I have a bad day or think negatively, I look at them and I feel so happy and positive. She has always been our brave child – and now she can belong to everyone. “
