'Harry fell out with William over being used as party decoy'

The relationship of the royal siblings Prince Harry and Prince William has recently been the subject of intense speculation and investigation after the Duke of Sussex made a series of bomb allegations in media interviews.

And Harry himself admitted that he has become distant to William. In his first interview with Oprah Winfrey in March, he said there was “space” between him and William, adding, “Hopefully time will heal all things.”

Harry also hinted at the chasm during ITV documentary Harry & Meghan: An African Journey.

“Part of this role and part of this job and this family that’s under the pressure it’s under inevitably happens, you know, something happens,” he said.

“But look, we are brothers, we will always be brothers. And we are certainly on different paths at the moment, but I will always be there for him because I know that he will always be there for me.”

“We don’t see each other as much as we used to because we’re so busy, but you know I love him very much.

“Most of this material (in the press) came out of nowhere, but you know, as brothers, you have good days, you have bad days.”

That gap may only have widened since then after he made several harmful allegations against the royal family.

In his new TV show The me you can’t see on Apple TV, a claim that ‘The Firm’ partnered with the media to launch a smear campaign against his wife in advance of her first interview with Oprah.

It is widely believed that this divide between the brothers began when the Duke of Cambridge allegedly told Harry not to rush with Meghan – and “take as much time as you need to get to know this girl”.

However, Royal Insiders and Biographers say the brothers’ problems began long before Harry met Meghan. reports Kent Live.

Channel 5 royal correspondent Simon Vigar claims Harry and William fell when the heir to the throne used his younger brother as “bait” at wild parties at a young age.

Channel 5 documentary Princes At War claimed William used Harry to protect his image.

“Harry obviously got caught in some scratches that got him on the front pages of the newspapers,” said Simon. “But a lot of these parties, especially the teenage parties, had William at it. Harry served as a really useful bait.”

Royal writer Katie Nicholl agrees. She said Prince Harry refused to forgive William “for some time” after taking the blame on himself.

“That was the first time the brothers really were out,” said Katie. “Harry resented the fact that he had taken all the blame on himself, but of course William was the heir, Harry accepted the weakness and Harry was very angry about that.

“He refused to speak to or forgive his brother for some time.”

Harry is also reported to have been annoyed that he felt like a “third wheel” in the charitable foundation he shared with Kate and William.

A source said: “It didn’t help that when the Kensington Palace staff members were asked for something, they were often busy with ‘more important’ work for the Duke of Cambridge who will one day be king.”

Their different approaches to environmental protection efforts are also believed to have caused frustration.

According to reports, Harry wanted a hands-on approach to protecting African animals, while William supported community-led initiatives.

Royal insiders say these tensions eased for years – and boiled over when Harry and Meghan’s relationship got serious.

And at Christmas 2018, the brothers dropped out because Harry felt his brother hadn’t done enough to bring his new wife into the royal family, claims royal expert Katie Nicholl.

“Harry felt that William wasn’t rolling out the red carpet for Meghan and told him so,” a source told Nicholl.

“They had a little fallout that wasn’t fixed until Charles walked in and asked William to make an effort.

“Then the Cambridges invited the Sussexes to spend Christmas with them.”
