Here are the very latest Covid rates for every local area in the UK

Here is Monday’s update of Monday’s Covid-19 case rates for all parishes in the UK.

The numbers for the seven days leading up to September 2 are based on the number of people who tested positive for Covid-19 in either a lab report or a rapid lateral flow test, according to the sample date.

The rate is expressed as the number of new cases per 100,000 population.

Data for the last four days (September 3-6) have been excluded because they are incomplete and do not reflect the true number of cases.

Of the 377 municipalities in the UK, weekly rates increased in 220 (58%), decreased in 154 (41%) and three remained unchanged.

The highest rates are all in Scotland. North Lanarkshire continues to have the highest rate in the UK with 4,317 new cases in the seven days leading up to September 2 – the equivalent of 1,265.5 per 100,000 population.

That is an increase from 1,067.9 in the seven days leading up to August 26th.

Inverclyde has the second highest rate with 951 new cases, increasing from 938.2 to 1,234.1.

West Dunbartonshire has the third highest rate with 1,044 new cases, rising from 1,090.1 to 1,181.8.

Fermanagh & Omagh has the highest rate in Northern Ireland (779.8), Merthyr Tydfil has the highest rate in Wales (748.0) and Corby has the highest rate in England (559.9).

The five UK areas with the biggest week-to-week increases are:

  • Merthyr Tydfil (from 427.0 to 748.0)
  • Inverclyde (938.2 to 1,234.1)
  • East Renfrewshire (856.8 to 1,124.3)
  • Whistle (480.0 to 715.5)
  • Clackmannanshire (672.6 to 906.6)

The list was calculated by the PA News Agency based on data posted on the government’s coronavirus dashboard on September 6.

Here is the full list.
