Here are the weekly Covid rates for every area in England

Here is the update of the Covid-19 case rates for all local government in England on Friday.

The numbers for the seven days leading up to March 22nd are based on tests conducted in laboratories (Pillar 1 of the government’s testing program) and in the wider community (Pillar 2).

The rate is expressed as the number of new cases per 100,000 people.

The last four days of data (March 23-26) have been excluded because they are incomplete and do not reflect the actual number of cases.

Of the 315 local areas in England, 136 (43%) have seen case rates increase, 174 (55%) have decreased and five are unchanged.

Corby in Northamptonshire continues to have the highest rate in England. In the seven days leading up to March 22nd, 151 new cases were registered, which is 209.1 cases per 100,000 people.

That’s an increase of 188.3 per 100,000 in the seven days ending March 15.

Barnsley has the second highest rate of 430 new cases from 183.1 to 174.2.

North Lincolnshire has the third highest rate with 287 new cases from 141.6 to 166.6.

The five areas with the greatest increase from week to week are:

  • Derbyshire Dales (from 35.9 to 106.5)
  • Stevenage (55.8-104.7)
  • Rugby (71.6 to 115.7)
  • Sedgemoor (34.9 to 74.7)
  • North Warwickshire (73.5 to 110.3)

The list was calculated by the PA News Agency based on data from Public Health England released on the government’s coronavirus dashboard on March 26.
