How to hide apps from the home screen to keep it clear

There are people who don’t mind turning pages and pages of applications downloaded to their mobile. But there are also users who would like their user interface to be clearer without having to resort to removing the apps. If you have an iPhone with iOS 14, you can hide apps and pages this way without deleting them. How to do that:

Hide app pages in iOS 14

  • Long press on an empty area of ​​the device’s home screen, or on an application page (you can also press and hold an application or choose Edit home screen
  • In edit mode, tap the elongated page dots icon in the center of the screen
  • Disable the application pages you want to hide
  • Tap Done in the top right corner. You can make the pages of your application visible at any time by performing these steps in reverse order

After hiding the app pages, you’ll see a notification that new downloads appear in the Recently Added section of the app library. For now, the default is for new app downloads to also appear on your home screen / app page, but you can change this in the Settings app.

Hide newly downloaded apps

If you want the new downloads to appear only in the iPhone App Library and not on the home screen or application page, do the following. There is also an option to get a notification badge for ‘Show in app library’ if you want to receive reminders and a shortcut:

  • Open settings
  • Tap on the home screen
  • At the top under New app downloads, choose Only app library
