WARNING – DAMAGING DETAILS: Russia announced today that five senior prison officials have been released after leaked videos reportedly revealed alleged torture and sexual assault in prisons
A 40 Gb “mega-leak” of a series of barbaric clips, including torture videos, allegedly depicting widespread rape and brutality by inmates in Russian prisons.
The material is part of a leak involving the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation, once headed by Vladimir Putin, and the country’s FSIN prison authorities.
The graphic images and recordings – which the mirror does not want to show due to their graphic nature – are described as “torture conveyor belts” in prisons, in which alleged rapists are used to break male inmates.
Russia said today it has fired five senior prison officials and opened a series of criminal investigations into alleged torture and sexual assault in a prison in the Saratov region.
The releases included the director of the prison where the alleged abuse took place and the head of the regional prison service.
An anti-torture group said a shocking 40 GB of video, documents and photos showing the orchestrated abuse were smuggled out of Russia Gulagu.Net.
A video shows a naked man screaming in pain when he was handcuffed to a bed and injured with a mop stick in a tuberculosis hospital in a prison in the city of Saratov in February 2020.
Regardless of this, the authorities show compromised inmates urinating on fellow inmates.
Male rape is also shown amid allegations that all civilized norms have collapsed in the Russian prison system.
Guards tortured prisoners who were then forced to torture other inmates, it is said.
The horrific pool of rape, intimidation and violence material reportedly came from prisons in six Russian regions and is now being sent to the United Nations and the Council of Europe for investigation.
The material was leaked by a Belarusian programmer detained in Saratov and used by authorities to compile their disgusting collection of torture videos filmed on prison cameras, the group says.
The programmer, who has since been released and sought political asylum in the West, copied the material and took it with him from Russia, it is said.
Regarding US National Security Agency whistleblower Edward Snowden, now in exile in Russia, Vladimir Osechkin, who Gulagu.Net, said: “We call him our Belarusian Snowden.”

It is “the first time that human rights defenders have received so much information that proves the systemic nature of torture in Russia”.
Osechkin says there is evidence that 200 inmates were tortured and raped by FSB and FSIN agents in Russian prisons, 40 of them on video.
Prison officials had opened an investigation into the videos.
Putin’s spokesman Dmitry Peskov said: “If the authenticity of these materials is confirmed, then of course it is a reason for serious investigation.
“But first it is important to clarify this quickly but calmly and to determine (your) authenticity.”
Late Tuesday, Colonel Alexei Fedotov, 55, the head of the FSIN’s Saratov Service, resigned.
“Fedotov has written a resignation letter. He is currently on vacation from which he may not be able to return to work,” a source told Interfax.
The Russian General Prosecutor’s Office has opened an investigation.
But France-based Osechkin said: “The Russian authorities are hypocritical and are doing everything possible to distance themselves from this torture conveyor belt (created by FSIN and FSB generals) – which was used for the will of convicts to suppress .”
He has promised to post more material in the coming days.
The videos “prove” that FSB and FSIN agents use rape and other forms of torture to force inmates to cooperate and comply, he said.
They “become part of the torture machine themselves” by whistling other inmates or signing false testimony prepared by investigators, said the Russian service of RFE / RL.
