Sandra Hannah, a Liverpool housewife and mom who went viral last April after losing her parrot, has appeared as a candidate on ITV’s new quiz show, Winning Combination.
Sandra’s parrot Chanel, a gray parrot, flew away from her house when the door was left open.
A video appeal was recorded by mother Sandra asking residents of the surrounding neighborhoods of Liverpool to look out for their beloved pet.
The clip, which shows a clearly desperate Sandra screaming and saying “Chanell!” Soon went viral online in the hope that it would return to its owner.
Winning Combination host Omid Djalili described Sandra as a “YouTube sensation” when she met her and even imitated the famous “CHAAANEEEL!” Quote.
“I love her more than my children – she talks to me,” revealed Sandra, to which Omid replied: “I didn’t think the parrot would have its say so quickly!”
Sandra told the host that Chanel wasn’t brought back to her Sandra until the next day by a neighbor who saw the viral video.
A similar video from Sandra went viral this July for the exact same reason, as Chanel escaped again. Fortunately, it was returned to its owner shortly afterwards.
Sandra told ITV viewers today, “She knocked her beak on someone’s window and said ‘hello’ and they said, ‘I think this is a bird that speaks’.”
“You sent me a message and I was running around like, ‘I have her!’
“Me and my son wanted to pick her up and she came straight to me. It was a happy ending.”
Both of Sandra’s appeal videos went viral online, garnering hundreds of thousands of views in the first few days after their release, and resulted in multiple memes and remixes.
A spoof Twitter account called @chaneltheparrot has even been set up in honor of Sandra’s notorious pet.
Unfortunately, Sandra missed the chance to get into the final round of the quiz show, but wished her competitors the best of luck.
“I’m fine – I’m positive for all of them and I hope they win!”
