Is Priti Patel married? Husband of the Home Secretary is a Conservative councillor in London

Priti Patel has been a central figure in Boris Johnson’s administration since her appointment.

In last month’s cabinet reshuffle, she kept her job while several of her colleagues were transferred to other posts or removed from the top team altogether.

She is currently the Minister of the Interior and is therefore responsible for all matters relating to the Ministry of the Interior, such as immigration, police and crime.

Is Priti Patel Married?

Priti Patel met her partner, Alex Sawyer, while she was working in public relations, and the couple married at a ceremony in 2004.

Sawyer works as a marketing consultant for Nasdaq NLX, a high-ranking US financial company.

He also serves as the Conservative Alderman for the Parish of St Mary’s and St James in the London Borough of Bexley. He continues to serve as a Cabinet Member for Communities.

The couple have a son named Freddie, who was born in 2008 at St. John’s Hospital in Chelmsford, Essex.

Who is Priti Patel?

Priti Patel was born in 1972 to parents Anjana and Sushil, who were originally from India, but their father and grandfather had moved to Uganda. They fled the country in the 1960s.

Patel attended secondary school in Watford before earning an economics degree from Keele University. She then completed postgraduate studies at Essex University.

After graduation, Patel became active in politics and took a position as an intern at the Conservative Central Bureau.

She then joined the press office of the anti-EU referendum party in the 1990s before returning to the Conservative Party as William Hague’s deputy spokesman.

She entered parliament when she was elected as a Conservative MP for the Witham constituency in the 2010 general election.

Since then, she has served as Secretary of State under David Cameron’s tenure while serving as Secretary for International Development under the direction of Theresa May.

She has held her current position as Home Secretary since 2019 under the office of Boris Johnson.

Patel was a prominent figure in the Leave campaign during the 2016 referendum on Britain’s membership of the European Union.
